MALLEE MAID (7) was in the money two starts back at Yea but couldn't back it up last time when eighth, beaten 5.5 lengths, at Ararat over 1m after being in the firing line on the bend. This is a nice drop in grade so she can find the winners' list. KING PROTEA (1) is a 15-start maiden who could only manage to finish sixth at his latest appearance over 5f at Balnarring. This offers him a great chance of breaking through. ROCKET LAUNCHER (4) finished second last start over 6¾f at Dederang, beaten 9 lengths. Nicely placed to play a major role. PORTUGUESE PARROT (3) is ready to win after another minor placing last start, finishing second over 6f at Hinnomunjie. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run.
