STRUM (9) finished third at Mornington two runs back but was less effective last time over 5f at Cranbourne, finishing 5 lengths back in seventh after being prominent at the bend. This is a nice drop in grade so he is likely to play a big role. EXCELAOT (2) is back after a break of six-and-a-half months. At the last run before the layoff he finished seventh over 6f at Moe. Has trialled two times leading into this. Has ability and is a solid chance. SHAME ON SUE (14) showed good early speed and led into the straight before fading to finish fourth, beaten 4 lengths, over 5½f at St Arnaud. One of the main contenders. PRINCESSTHREE (16) finished 24 lengths away in sixth at her last appearance over 7f147yards at Geelong on November 8 after she gave away a big start. Should be about the money.
