Going up a level this time but she can win if at her best. MAGIC DRUM (1) hit the frame two starts ago at Kyneton but ran below par last time when sixth and beaten 3.5 lengths over 1m at Ballarat. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is good enough to take this out. BLACK AUTUMN (5) was given a short break after finishing ninth over 1m1f at Sandown-Hillside. Kept ticking over since that run with a trial at Cranbourne. One of the genuine contenders. CRYSTANADO (3) strode forward early from his wide draw last start over 7½f at Yarra Valley then fought on gamely to finish third. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he is good enough to play a major role.
