XINGXING (2) showed good early speed and led into the straight before fading to finish seventh, beaten 4. 5 lengths, over 6¼f at Newcastle. Will take catching. CIAO BELLA MIA (4) was having her first run for the Anthony Mountney yard last start when she made steady ground to run into second over 5½f at Nowra at the first run back from a lay-off. One of the genuine hopes in the race. MEDIEVAL MAYHEM (11) stepped out for her debut over 4½f at Newcastle back on March 1 and finished eighth, beaten 6 lengths. Better for that run and can improve sharply. BRAINIAC (3) resumes from a lay-off of six-and-a-half months. Could only manage to finish sixth at the latest run over 6f at Goulburn. Looks ready to run following a minor placing in a recent Rosehill trial. Has ability so don't underestimate.
