GATTINO VELOCE (7) wound up strongly only to just miss last start over 5f at Pakenham. Will derive great benefit from recent racing. Won't find this as tough so she will be hard to beat. ANYWAYS (4) was beaten just a long neck last start and landed her first top-three finish in the process at Stony Creek over 5½f. Looks close to a win. HEGELY (8) is a consistent maiden back after a break of four months. Finished last campaign with a third at Swan Hill and looks set for a strong return based on recent trial form. Should park just off the speed despite the awkward draw and she should be in the finish. CABRIOLE (1) resumes from a lay-off of six months. Has filled a minor placing at both when resuming runs. Opened last prep with a third over 6f at Moonee Valley. Will be thereabouts.
