MR OREO (11) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out, finishing third and beaten only 2 lengths over 6¼f at this track when he made late ground. Has a solid record at this course and distance, including a win and three minor placings. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. ELLIS BEACH (3) is yet to fill a placing in two runs since resuming from a lay-off, the latest when fourth over 6½f at Townsville after he got a long way back. Will strip fitter and is among the main hopes. WAR COUNCIL (9) did little and finished 7 lengths from the winner in eighth over 6f at Mackay last start after being prominent at the corner, a less impressive effort than his when resuming fourth at Townsville the run before. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. FLOURISH (7) finished third at this track two runs back but was less effective last time over 7f at Townsville, finishing 5. 5 lengths back in seventh. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time.
