ARABIAN SUMMER (3) ran a strong third over 5f in the G1 Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley two runs back then was below her best last time over 5½f when sixth, beaten 3 lengths. Goes well at this shorter journey so looks a leading contender. ZEALOUSLY (7) scored by half a length when resuming last start at Warwick Farm over this distance after he was prominent at the turn. Is yet to miss the frame from five starts at this distance, including three wins. Will find this much tougher but he is expected to run well. NADAL (2) finished seventh over 7f at Pakenham at his most recent appearance on December 21. Worth plenty of thought. PISANELLO (5) is resuming from a lay-off of four-and-a-half months and having his first run for the Ben, Will & Jd Hayes yard. Was in the placings when when resuming from a lay-off last campaign in the G3 Maurice McCarten Stakes at Rosehill over 5½f. Will be fit enough for this following a recent trial win.
