SHIRSHOV (5) went forward and gave a great sight before finishing third when resuming last time out over 4¾f at this track. Meeting a deeper field this time but he deserves plenty of thought. PHILOSOPHER (2) bounced back last start and got the job done by 1. 5 lengths after being in contention on the corner as favourite over 5f at this track. Taking on a better field but he is up to the task. PORT ALBERT (4) is coming along nicely this prep. Finished fourth when fresh from a lay-off two starts back at Geelong then improved and scored over 4¾f at this track five weeks ago, getting home by a long neck. Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is one of the key runners. ALWAYS ENUFF (6) progressed nicely last time out to finish just 1. 5 lengths from the winner in second over 5f at this track. Has her share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race.
