ENGINES ON (10) had a light campaign last year which included a victory making seasonal return and a soft ground win here with both starts over 7f. Also secured a big field handicap victory in 2024. Naturally off a higher mark but no reason to believe he can't succeed. EASTWATCH (4) held his own in small field Listed races last term and could be suited by the strong pace tackling this shorter trip. A must for the shortlist. Winner of this last year ORANDI (6) holds claims in his repeat bid with knowledge of his liking for the softer ground. Cannot be ignored. British raider WHIP CRACKER (5) was without a win last year. Holds solid form in these conditions. Thereabouts.
