BAYSIDE (2) ran below expectations last time at this track, finishing fifth and beaten 4. 5 lengths starting at 3/1. Steps up a level but he is up to the task. COAL RIVER (3) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 5. 5 lengths when fourth over 6¾f at this track two-and-a-half weeks ago. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. ALPINE FURY (1) is coming along nicely this prep. Finished eighth when fresh from a lay-off two starts back at Hobart then improved and scored as favourite over 7f at Launceston six weeks ago, getting home by a head after being in contention on the bend. Nicely placed to take this out. HARTMAN (4) is fitter for two runs back from a break. Turned in a better effort last time when fourth over 6¾f at this track. Don't underestimate.
