    YUUKI (12) showed good early speed then led into the straight when fresh from a lay-off last start before fighting on to finish second, beaten 0. 8 lengths, over 5f at Bendigo. Will go forward again and looks tough to beat. PROFILE (9) finished third on debut nine months ago, beaten 3. 5 lengths over 5½f at Gosford, and has not been produced since. Fitter for a trial win at Werribee. Sure to have improved over the break and is among the main hopes. SMOKE SCREEN (11) was below her best last time out when 12 lengths from the winner in tenth over 5½f at Pakenham. Will find this a little easier than last time. One to consider. DONE LEAVY (13) was well in the market when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6f at Yarra Valley but was safely held in fourth, beaten 6 lengths. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Should give backers a sight.
