OUR MATE LOCKY (8) made a strong late bid only to just miss as favourite last start over 6¾f at Ipswich. Has race fitness on his side now. Going up a level this time but he is good enough to play a major role. DON'T DOUBT MISSY (9) is a promising maiden who looks close to a win, finishing fourth on debut then placing over 5½f at Gold Coast last time out. Drawn out but does go back and work into her races. One of the leading chances. GEITZ (10) showed little early speed then came with a powerful run to finish second last time out over 6f at Gold Coast. One of the main contenders. FIDARDO (3) is on debut. By Castelvecchio and is out of the Gary Duncan stable. Proved too sharp in a recent Sunshine Coast Inner Track trial. Worth watching for a betting push.
