EX MACHINA (2) is a five-start maiden who looks close to breaking the duck after finishing in the placings at his last couple of runs, most recently when 8 lengths away in third over 6f at this track. Has good early toe so he should be handy in the run. Winning claims on best figures. DIGNIFIED RESPONSE (7) is a five-start maiden who resumed from a lay-off last start and was beaten 7 lengths when fourth over 5½f at this track (Dirt). Should progress from that last outing and poses a genuine threat.
