GRINDING AWAY (3) raced on the speed from the outset last start and finished third, beaten 8 lengths, over 1m4 1/4f at Mornington. Placed to advantage and can feature in the finish. LAST CARD LOUIE (4) missed the placings two runs back then was always well out of his ground last start when 9 lengths away in seventh over 2m4f at Ararat. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. MIGHTY MAC (5) has put together back-to-back placings, the latest when a nose away in second after he was well back on straightening over 1m2f at Wangaratta. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is one of the key runners. CHARLIE MESSY HAIR (1) drifted back and never threatened at his last run four days ago, finishing seventh over 1m4 1/4f at Mornington. No surprise to see him back in form this time.
