CARTWHEELS (4) tackled a longer trip last time and settled well back but failed to make any headway when fifth and beaten 5.5 lengths. Expected to bounce back. SCUD (1) turned in a moderate run over this journey last time out, settling in a rearwards position and failing to come on when ninth over 6f at Eagle Farm. Perfectly placed and is sure to give this a mighty shake. STAROSHKA (3) built on a nice third when fresh from a lay-off two starts back at this track with a win over 5¼f at Toowoomba two weeks ago, getting home by a neck. Steps up a level but he is worth serious consideration. SMART RECOGNITION (7) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before fading to finish fourth, beaten 2.25 lengths, over 5½f at Ipswich. Cannot be underestimated.
