TOPSPIN (7) is looking to improve on a last-start seventh on the flat over 1m4 1/2f at Pakenham on March 19. Tackles a better race this time but is up to the task. NOONDAY GUN (2) returned from a 228-day lay-off with a sound tenth in a 1m5f flat race at Flemington last start. Genuine jumper with four wins and zero minor placings from five starts over the obstacles. Will strip fitter and makes plenty of appeal. RAPID IMPACT (9) yet to strike a blow in two runs this prep. Resumed with a tenth in a flat race at Edenhope then was 7 lengths away (2m1 1/4f) at Warrnambool 12 days ago. Expect improvement. CARNAMAH (6) is yet to find the frame in two runs this campaign, both on the flat. Opened with a ninth over 1m then finished 19 lengths away over 1m3 3/4f at Healesville 10 days ago. Won't be far off them this time.
