Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Will play a major role. THE SHOWVINIST (1) is a four-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the Helen Harding yard. Hasn't raced since finishing seventh at Sandown-Lakeside three-and-a-half months ago. Not seen at the trials but looks nicely placed. Expected to be in the finish. THE LIONS' GATE (3) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a lay-off on January 2, finishing sixth and beaten 3 lengths over 5½f at Esperance. One to consider. SUNSHINE TAFE (6) didn't make an impact at her last run before going for a lay-off on October 19, finishing fourth and beaten 7 lengths over 7f at this track. Has to be respected.
