HIGHLAND DANCER (10) ran well on debut last start to finish second over 5f at Gunnedah in a tougher race. Jumps from a wide draw but she will be hard to beat. TOKE (5) ran a better race last start to finish a close third over 5½f at Port Macquarie after being in contention on the turn. Looks well placed so expect another big run. VELKA (6) finished third when resuming at Taree then couldn't repeat the dose last time when fifth at Port Macquarie over 5½f when beaten 2. 5 lengths. Well placed here and among the winning hopes. MARKWELL MELODY (7) gave away a big start at the top of the straight last start and finished 5. 5 lengths from the winner in fifth over 5¾f at Beaumont (Newcastle). Suited in this line up and is among the better hopes.
