VIASAIN (2) made progress last time out, finishing 2 lengths from the winner in third at the end of 5f152yards at Geelong after being in contention on the turn. Finds a suitable race and can build on that solid recent effort. LA ROUX (5) was returning from a break last time out and proved too classy, scoring by half a length over 5f at Moe. Has a liking for this trip and must be respected. TRAPPER JOHN (6) drifted back then closed strongly to score as favourite on debut over 5f at Sandown-Hillside three weeks ago. Likely improver with bright prospects again. BARARI (8) resumes after a break of four-and-a-half months. Did win at her only other when resuming run when on debut, scoring over 6f at Mildura. Fitter for a recent trial win at Ballarat. Makes plenty of appeal.
