EMERALD REWARD (1) travelled in a rearwards position then picked up fairly well in the straight and finished 1. 1 lengths away in fourth last time out over 6f at Mt Gambier two weeks ago. Steps up in distance. Settles back early but winds up late. Will be tough to stop. PIWHANE (6) improved sharply on her fourth two starts back at Strathalbyn with a win over 7f at Oakbank two-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by 1. 3 lengths after being prominent at the turn. Finds an easier assignment and can get the job done again. SALSBURY HILL (4) finished 3. 5 lengths adrift in sixth last time over 6f at Mt Gambier in a disappointing performance. Likely improver with top-three prospects.
