Ideally placed and is sure to play a pivotal role. VANLEE (9) wound up strongly but just failed to pick up the winner when when resuming last start over 5½f at Canterbury. Will strip a lot fitter this time around. Placed to advantage so expect another forward showing. VANESSI (7) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 12 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when fifth over 5½f at Canterbury, beaten 1. 75 lengths. Likely contender with strong prospects. ART'S ALIVE (1) is back after a break of six months. Started the last campaign in good style when in the placings over 5½f at Rosehill. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race.
