NIGHT PASSAGE (6) was safely held when resuming from a lay-off behind Colonel Yorke at Listed level at this track (Dirt) over 7f, beaten 16 lengths into sixth. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Will play a major role. DETERMINED LOVER (8) is back at the races for the first time since August 14. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last time in work over 6f at Will Rogers Downs. Has ability and should be right in the finish. PAYNT BALL (9) closed last campaign with back-to-back placings, the last of which was at Will Rogers Downs five-and-a-half months ago. Has good early toe so he should be handy in the run. Should be involved in the finish. DA CHIEF (7) did a great job to score by 7 lengths over this course and distance last start in a much improved run. Meets some better types this time but another big run is on the cards.
