DUCASSE (11) did well to score by a head when resuming in a weaker race last start over 7f at this track. Open to plenty of improvement and another win looks on the cards. WEST OF AFRICA (14) won narrowly by 0.8 lengths two runs back in the LR Magic Millions Cup at Gold Coast then missed the frame last time at this track. Big weight drop will assist. Has been in solid form this campaign with a win and a placing from three starts. Among the leading chances. IOWNA MERC (2) showed good early dash and stalked the pace last start before drawing clear to score by a nose over 6½f in the G3 Liverpool City Cup at Randwick. Tougher assignment this time but he should be involved in the finish. WILLAIDOW (9) lifted strongly to score when returning from a lay-off two runs back then was prominent in the run last time before finishing fifth over 6½f in the G3 Liverpool City Cup at Randwick. Likely to push forward and race on the pace. Must be respected.
