The testing material. WINTER NIGHTS (2) settled back before coming home strongly to score on debut over 7f at Echuca two-and-a-half weeks ago. Has plenty of upside and should go on with it. MADESIAN (3) was well in the market when resuming from a lay-off last start over 7½f at Yarra Valley but was safely held in seventh, beaten 8 lengths. Should be prominent from the outset. One of the main contenders. MONTE CASSINO (6) made progress last time out, finishing 5. 5 lengths from the winner in third over 1m at Pakenham. Finds a suitable race and can figure in the finish.
