PROVEN ADVOCATE (2) finished fourth two runs back at Sam Houston Park (Dirt) then improved last time out to score by 4 lengths after being prominent at the corner over 1m at this track (Turf). Meeting a deeper field this time but he deserves plenty of thought. COLONEL YORKE (5) finished 4 lengths from the winner in second when resuming last start over 1m at this track (Turf). Yet to miss the placings here in an excellent record which boasts two wins and one placing. Well placed and should be in the finish. VICTORY FOR VETS (3) improved sharply on his fifth two starts back in Listed grade at Remington Park (Dirt) with success as public elect over 7f at Sam Houston Park (Dirt) three weeks ago, getting home by 0. 1 lengths after being in the firing line on the turn. Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is right in contention. REGAL TERKA (11) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 8 lengths away in seventh over 1m at this track. Best efforts measure up so worth another chance.
