ROULETTE KING (2) kicked off this prep with a win two-and-a-half weeks ago, scoring over 7f at Ballarat. Has a strong association with Jamie Mott who has been aboard for the last two wins. Looms large. CROCODILE (3) is a talented gelding who tackled tougher grade last time, finishing 4. 5 lengths behind Single Choice over 1m1f in the G2 Autumn Classic at Caulfield. Well placed and expected to feature. BERTRAND (8) was far from disgraced when second last start after being in contention on the turn over 1m1f at Horsham, beaten half a length. That followed a win at Hanging Rock the start prior. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he is good enough to play a major role. RUSSIAN DUCHESS (12) was in contention on the bend and finished second last time over 1m at Caulfield Heath, beaten 2. 5 lengths. Likely improver with bright prospects.
