POCKET VENUS (1) produced a reasonable effort after being in the firing line on the turn to finish 1. 5 lengths away in second last start over 6f at Del Mar. That followed a win on debut at Del Mar. Finds a suitable race and can figure in the finish. COIFFEUR (6) finds it hard to win with just one success from 17 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when eighth over 5½f at Los Alamitos, beaten 8 lengths. Has the talent to feature in the finish. A TOAST TO LANIE (3) is a promising galloper who resumes from a break. Last raced when second over 6½f at this track (Dirt) a year ago which was the only run of that prep. Has never been out of the placings when resuming from two tries. Winning rider Ricardo Gonzalez sticks. Has winning claims on best figures. DIVA CAT (2) has not been produced since she scored on debut over 5½f at Del Mar on November 23. A bold showing is expected.
