SAMMY DAVIS (5) was prominent from the outset and fought on for second last start over 6½f at Santa Anita Turf (Turf), making it three minor placings in a row. Has the early speed to cross from out wide. Must raise the bar but he has the ability to test this field. THIRSTY REBEL (4) was in the firing line on the bend and progressed nicely last start to finish a close third over 6f at Santa Anita Turf after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Taking on a better line-up this time but he deserves plenty of thought. FIONELLO (2) is building towards a win with placings at his last two runs, the latest effort a third over 1m at this track (Dirt) when beaten 1. 5 lengths. Will drift back but wind up late. Will prove tough to stop. GALLOPING GHOST (1) is a last-start winner four weeks ago, scoring by 2 lengths over 6½f at this track. Can give this a shake.
