CALL ME BASIL (2) had a bit on his rivals last time out, scoring an impressive 4. 5 lengths maiden win over 6½f at Tuncurry. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Big chance to go back-to-back. HIGHLY TEMPTED (3) had been in sound form but last start he was safely held when 15th over 7½f at Rosehill. Today's rider Aaron Bullock has a decent record aboard this four-year-old gelding so he is among the leading chances. FAST BLUE (9) didn't do a bad job when fourth last start after being prominent at the corner over 6¾f at Beaumont (Newcastle), beaten 2. 25 lengths. That followed a win at Kempsey the start prior. Has the class to take care of this field. EDDIE'S CHARM (8) accounted for a maiden field over 6½f at this track last start, finishing 0. 9 lengths ahead of the nearest rival. Harder task ahead this time but can measure up.
