SOLO SURPRISE (4) settled well back at the first run back from a break last start and never really threatened when fifth over 6f at Presque Isle Downs (Synthetic). Sure to strip fitter this time around. Erik Barbaran goes well on this three-year-old and is back on top. Well placed and should be in the finish. RUBY RIVER (5) went forward and gave a great sight before finishing third last time out over 5½f at Delaware Park (Dirt). Taking on a better line-up this time but she deserves plenty of thought. FLYING PHOENIX (2) didn't do a lot on debut two-and-a-half weeks ago, finishing 15 lengths from the winner in fifth over 6f at this track (Dirt). Open to plenty of improvement. Expected to do much better. LATE FOR A DATE (1) is a three-year-old filly on debut from the stable of Caryn Vecchio. By Mitole from Discreetly Grand. Top-three chance.
