KIRIKAN (1) is close to breaking through after three consecutive placings, the latest coming when third over 7½f at Cairns after he produced a huge finish. Backmarker who gets home hard. Faces an easier assignment so he is one of the main contenders. MISSION HOUSE (2) registered a strong win at Ingham two runs ago. Not disgraced last time out when second over 7f76yards at Bowen, beaten 1.5 lengths. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is one of the key runners. SAND 'N' POWER (6) ran below expectations last time at Home Hill, finishing fifth and beaten 1.75 lengths starting at 5/1. Facing a tougher assignment but he is good enough to take this out. AL RAS BLUES (7) progressed nicely last time out to finish just 0.7 lengths from the winner in third over 7½f at Cairns. Finds a nice race and can play a big role again.
