LORD VALEN (2) has hit the frame at both runs this time in, both on dirt, resuming with a minor at Twin Hills then finishing third at Cloncurry over 5f two weeks ago. Has a decent record at this trip with three minor placings from four tries and is expected to be in the finish. MAVEN (3) is back after a break of three-and-a-half months. At the last run before the layoff he finished fourth over 6¼f at Cairns. Rates highly on best figures and should be right in this. OSCAR BOOIE (6) finished third over 5f at Bowen in a then missed the frame last time out over 6f at this track. Should be parked just off the speed. Can feature with the right run.
