APPLE PIE (7) showed little early speed last start and failed to come on in the straight when eighth, beaten 10 lengths, over 6½f at Santa Anita Turf (Turf). Perfectly placed and is sure to be there at the finish. ISLAND JIVE (2) has been racing in great heart with two top-three finishes on end, the latest a third over 1m at Turf Paradise (Dirt) when she was in the firing line all the way. Meets some better types this time but this looks well within her grasp. ARIJANA'S PEARL (6) finds it hard to win with just one success from 17 starts. Was again denied last start when she found a couple better over 1m at Turf Paradise. Best figures measure up nicely. Makes plenty of appeal. KAZAMATAZ (3) raced below her best last time when sixth over 6f at Turf Paradise (Dirt), beaten 5. 5 lengths. Finds a nice race and can atone.
