OUTSMARTED (2) returns from a break of six months. Consistent performer last prep whose most recent appearance resulted in a sixth over 6¾f at Ipswich. Rates highly and a bold showing is expected. BIG BOY GEORGE (4) was quickly into stride from the rails draw last start but emptied late to finish seventh over 6f at Toowoomba. Will go forward and is expected to be in the finish. MERCHANT LADY (7) turned in an eye-catching run over this journey last time, settling out the back before winding up late to finish 2. 5 lengths away in fourth at Doomben. Has ability and a bold showing is expected. MACHINE HEAD (11) showed good pace last time out and boxed on to finish a nose from the winner in second at Dalby over 5f. Has been in sound form this prep with a win and four minor placings from nine outings. Not to be discounted.
