RUSSIAN MINT (9) did very well to fill a minor placing when resuming at Ipswich but raced below expectations last time over 5f at Eagle Farm, finishing sixth and beaten 5 lengths. Ideally placed and is sure to be there at the finish. MISHANI RENEGADE (8) finished out of the money two starts back then he got a long way back and was beaten 2 lengths when fifth in a 6f contest at Gold Coast three weeks ago. Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is one of the key runners. BIG BOY GEORGE (10) is back from a lay-off of nine weeks and does go well when fresh, including a win to launch last campaign over 6f at Toowoomba. Fitter for a minor placing in a recent Sunshine Coast Inner Track trial. Expect him to pose a serious challenge. SECRET PLAN (2) was unplaced two runs back when fresh from a lay-off then again missed the frame last start over 7f at Gold Coast, beaten 11 lengths into 11th. Nicely placed to find some form.
