STARDEALT (3) got well back over 1m1/2f at Geelong last time and never threatened, eventually finishing 6 lengths away in ninth. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time. DARN HOT MISS (11) is backing up eight days after finishing second over 1m2 1/2f at Benalla. Good effort last start and shapes as a major threat. CALM BUCKLE (10) returned from a lay-off last start with a strong win by a head over 7f at Carrathool. Open to plenty of improvement and another big run will not surprise. FIRST DAY (12) gave away a considerable start over 1m1f at Gundagai last time before hitting the line well to finish fourth. Outdashed but got home well and looks suited by the extra ground. Sure to be winding up late.
