JOURNEYMAN (2) improved sharply on his eighth two starts back in the G3 Durham Cup Stakes at this track with success over 1m1/2f at this track two weeks ago, getting home by 1. 5 lengths. Finds a suitable race and can go on to make it two in a row. KEKOA (1) did a great job to score by one length over this course and distance last start in a much improved run. Goes up a rung or two but he is good enough to figure in the finish. MASON'S GAMBLE (6) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race and finished 7 lengths away in fourth last time out over 1m at this track. Best figures measure up nicely. Sure to run well. PIERRE (7) progressed nicely last time out to finish just one length from the winner in second over 7½f at this track. Pietro Moran gets the best out of this four-year-old gelding. Another forward showing is anticipated.
